High Speed Run

THE SET-UP:
My weight = 190 and am 6'1" tall. My Blur typically stops accelerating around 63 MPH on a flat, straight road on a day without much wind. ** I have no windshield on the Blur = stock setup.

THE TEST:
So yesterday I'm blasting through Camp Dennison (near Cincinnati) and decide to lean down as close to the instrument cluster as possible on a very straight, level area (SR126) once I was up to the typical max speed. In that position I shot up to 71 MPH!

YOUR RESULTS:
- What is the fastest you have gone on a straight-away on your Blur?
- What is the fastest you've gone going down a hill on your Blur?

Do you have a windshield?

Mine will hit about 76 (I have a windshield...vibrates like crazy, but then seems to calm around 70). Maybe a bit more downhill but I usually back-off a bit due to approaching redline on RPM's. Has anyone ever "blown" an engine?

Medium downhill i've hit 75mph on the speedo. Normal wind, flat road with me at 5'11" and 230 it's like 65-70

Maybe I misunderstand you, but I thought for CVT transmissions, you'll never pass the red line.

You're probably right about it not reaching the "redline", but its still worrisome to me pushing into the upper limits of RPM's. Maybe I'd feel better if that gauge wasn't even on the cluster...after all it is an automatic???

When you guys are seeing these speeds, what kind of RPM's are you seeing?

Maybe it's just me, but mine feels a little flat. It revs up to about 7100 RPM and that's it. When I twist it to full, it will go up to 7100 RPM and just stay there and then the CVT does it's thing. But seems to me I was getting more RPM before, but I could be crazy :)

And yes, I have the digital cluster with the nice big tach so I can see it good, I know the stock one was sorta silly small.

At first I wondered if my rollers were starting to stick, but doesn't the cause the opposite problem? If they stick and dont push out, you get stuck on lower "gear" it would seem.

Maybe I could go with lighter rollers (maybe upgrade variator and go to sliders). I'm well over 200 pounds, so maybe I could use the lower under grunt more than the top end.

My Blur is the same. Just creeping above 7,100 ... no where near the red line.

Hi
i have a PGO G-max 150 and it goes between 62-65 flat , but downhill in a tunnel i got 84 mph and touching the red rpm.
but on my pipe i have this blindpipe that we have on the small 50 cc bikes i think you can cut it of and weld the hole i will try. Also i think rollers with 1,5 ogr 2 grams lighter will do fine
