Noise?
Occasionally when I take off from a dead stop the bike seems to shudder and make a squeeling noise like the belt is slipping. It doesn't happen all the time, but more often than I want. Has anyone else had this occur, if so what is going on? Also I have occasional starting problems, bike just wont turn over unless I give it some throtle. Any thoughts?

I've noticed that, but more of a shudder than a squeal. Seems like it's better once the bike is warmed up fully.
As far as the hard-starting, do you ride a lot? Could just be carb gunk buildup and gas evaporating while it's sitting. I wish they'd either put a fuel tap or EFI (preferably the latter) because if you don't ride every day (I'm lucky to ride once a week), it usually ends up being a problem sooner or later.

First... The two problems are not likely related.
I have been having the shudder as well. Sometimes with a bit of squeal, and it's kinda a low pitch squeal, I once joked that it was "growling" haha
Lately I've been trying to be more gental on take offs and it seems to be helping.
My theory... I did a lot of power braking while practicing for my DMV test and I tend to be heavy on the throttle for takes off. I think at some point I got the clutch hot enough to do some warpage. When it gets warm, it seems to do it more.
It's just a theory. Though it may turn into an excuse. Excuse = good reason to upgrade something

I ride it 5 to 6 days a week, at least 10 miles every time I ride. I dont think the 2 problems are related either, just looking for feedback. I was thinking the shuddering might be related to the clutch, but wasnt sure. I had replaced the variator with a Dr Pulley, the dash with a digital, otherwise all is stock. I guess I will have to take it to the dealer.

If the clutch is warped, it'll have some discoloration to it (blue-grayish areas). Just open up the CVT case and take a look at the clutch bell.
While you have it open, use it as an excuse to blow out the belt dust and inspect everything in there.
