Which tires to get?
I am a few months away of needing new tires on my blur. Scooterworks shows that blur tires are not in stock.
Does anyone have a recommendation on what tires I should get? Another thread had this list of tires that would fit. But I have no clue which brand is best.
Maxxis M6029 (130/70-13) $58
Shinko SR425 (130/60-13) $42
Kenda K413 (120/60-13) $34
Bridgestone ML50 (130/60-13) L Rated for speeds up to 75 mph $96
Michelin Pilot Sport SC (130/60P-13) P rated for speeds up to 93 mph $62
Michelin Pilot City (120/70P-13) P rated for speeds up to 93 mph $62

There's really no need to up your speed rating, if you can find the Maxxis, I think most of us have been perfectly happy with those. remember softer tires give you better grip but usually wear faster and cost more. Harder tires last forever but don't grip as well. With the possible exception of Shinko, those are all good brands, I'm sure any would be fine, just depending on your tread and softness preference.
Anyone know a good resource for rating the hardness?

Har!
But seriously, over time just through experience and anecdotal evidence, I've learned which vintage scooter tires are better for this or that, but it's hard to find info on a lot of these modern scooter tires.

I am looking at the "Pilot Sport" MICHELIN, 130/60-13 53P TLI'm sure any would be fine, just depending on your tread and softness preference.
There is a 53P and 53T. It looks like the "T" is for all weather. I ride just about every day rain or shine, well into the winter. I am guessing those would be best for me?
Also, from what I have read, 130/60-13 should work for both front and back correct?
Just FYI, I emailed scooter works about Blur tires and got this:
we are out and we have no eta on backstock right now

I'm pretty sure that Genuine (even though they're out of stock) lists the 130's as good for both front and rear. I was wondering if going with the 130 up front and a 140/60-13 on the rear would help bring the whole thing closer to the original ratio. Would also need to see if a 140mm tread width would physically fit into the back end without rubbing on anything.

MaxG,
Can you confirm that the rear will take a 140? I've got a set of black rims to replace the orange ones and I've been waiting to hear a definative on the fit of the 120/130 vs 130/140 to put rubber to them and mount them.
If you've got them on your bike, how much clearance difference does it end up being?
Actually, while I've got your attention, do you have any sources for aftermarket forks for the Blur/GMax? I got hit a while back and my forks were bent. Everything else I've gotten replacements for, but the forks are on back-order. I miss my Blur.... a lot.
Any help you could lend would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
