I'd love to go, but that's just a bit too far for me.

Would a rally closer to Cincinnati work. Since we already have two blur riders in Cincinnati.

Perhaps I could make an easier decision come summer time. Things are a little hectic at the moment. Don't worry about planning around me. I could always take a train... maybe I could convince them that the blur is a carry-on item...

I'm up for anywhere. Even the tail of the dragon (4 hours from 'natti) or the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nashville, Indy, Indiana covered bridge country, whatever.

I just suggested Chicago because it's home to Genuine and we might be able to leverage for some swag:).

I'm in Kansas City, so anywhere is fairly doable for me in a day of driving. Pretty open as for dates too.

Looks like there are a lot of cool back roads in Indiana Covered Bridge Country (just north of Terre Haute. I don't know how much is black top, but I'm sure the main driving tour is paved.

I'll (probably) be on my Burgman but if there is a group of Blurs coming I could change my mind. especially if the wife has a Buddy by then!!

For your planning/scheduling purpose, our Annual New Holland PA Spring Scooter Rally will be held on May May 15-16 & 17. of May 2009. Full details will be posted in February. This will be our 7th. year for holding Scooter Rallys in New Holland, PA with each event becoming more successful. Please mark your calendars and watch for subsequent post in February.

I'd be interested.

I don't technically have a problem with getting to Chicago, but having some nice roads to ride would be fun too. (IE mountain and twisties).

Deals Gap is of course pretty close to me, but there are lot of other places up the East Coast, especially East TN or Western, NC.

We should pick some place that's easy for those of us who want to go. Looks like we've got Kansas City (me), two in 'Nati, one in Georgia and possibly VA and DE. I'm sure there are others that will show interest if we keep this tread going.

Sounds like Tenn. or Kentucky might be convenient for most of us. Those states at least touch Missouri:).

I'd be up for the Dragon, but anyone else know a good location in this area? The Harley Atlas says the Bourbon Trail near Lexington is a good ride.

Anywhere along the BlueRidge Pky from TN all the way to PA would be another option and the BRP is 45mph the entire way so speeds wouldn't be that bad. And lots of roads right off the pky are pretty good also.

I'll look on a map and post some other locations I can find.

Here's some other places.

Hot Springs, NC - It's just East of TN state line and Knoxville. Hwy 209 that runs south out of there I personally think gives the Dragon a run for it's money, but is not nearly as well known, so a lot quieter and stuff. There is a place right in town to camp at, plus there are actual Hot Springs. It's also reasonably close to Asheville, NC which has lots of roads and attractions. White Water Rafting is another activity in this area.

Hi Hat, KY. Not exactly this city, but the area around here looks awesome for some great roads. This is a little further North so closer to all you guys that way. Not sure about KC.

My next idea would be WV and maybe up towards the New River Gorge or the Gaulley River. That entire area of WV is so pretty. I'm not real familiar with areas around there though.

Just throwing some ideas out there.

Any of those work for me. West Virginia might be closer for some of the other folks if they want to weigh in.

Hey. I'm a Blur rider in Atlanta and would be up for a rally if the timing works out. Love the BR Pkwy. Done a bit of riding on the Mt Pisga section which is just south of Ashville, NC. Very cool ride!

When is the Cincinnati Rally? Any info. If we can latch on to that rally, I'm good. (I still want to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway, though).

April 3-5.

It's always big and fun, and registration is free. They get a lot of people from everywhere east of the Mississippi.

Slaughterhouse is in Chicago Labor Day weekend, We're still figuring out who's in charge of planning it this year, but that's another good central location and a traditionally big rally, and this year's the 15th anniversary. There's always a stopoff at Genuine/Scooterworks, I'm sure they'd be into it, though we'd probably wanna include buddy and stella owners if there's a tour or something. If we wanna do a Blur-only weekend in Chicago, I'd be happy to help get the organizers in touch with the right people at Genuine and suggest some rides/meeting places, but I've got too much on my plate to plan another rally. : )

Here is an idea. If people are fans of Gaming so forth. There is a convention in Eastgate ohio. With a good room rate of 93 a night. $30 for the badge for the weekend. But is exactly next to some wooded area where riding would fun. http://www.aandgohio.com/ is the website for the convention. Due to the events they hold maybe they could add in Rally ride if I ask.

I'm more interested in where we can hit some nice twisties since the Blur's handle so well and that is where they are in their element.

Since I live in the area let me find some. Close to its location.

Where were all of you for Amerivespa in Chattanooga last year? I was the only Blur there, the rides were great (though wet) and I won runner up for "best modern bike" with my stock '06 Blur.

Well, my two cents. I want to do a twistie ride and I'd love to do the Blue Ridge Parkway. As I originally mentioned, Chicago would be my choice if we were to latch on to another rally. That's probably the best way to go for a traditional rally rather than trying to organize something big on our own.

Might I suggest we organize some type of trip like the Blue Ridge Parkway for those of us who can go and find a rally for the rest of us. Some might do both, others one or the other.

The important thing is we need to network if we're going to keep our bikes. If Blur/Gmax is going to be rare in the states we'll need to use those contacts down the road.

Of course that's secondary to having fun.
