got a blur today ,and am extremely impressed. i didn't drive too much because i still have to get insurance, tag, and my license (been driving a 49cc for 2 years)

i got it from a poster here on the forums, and it's in pretty decent shape minus minor scratches. the only thing that was of concern to me was the seller told me he lost the title, and was applying for a new one. he did show me proof of insurance on the bike, and his story seemed believable but i guess i still have a concern about that issue in my head. anyway, can't wait to go to the dmv on monday to get my permit, as well as look into tag/title options...dunno, would you guys have bought without a title?

the only pic of it so far is in this original post from the former owner...

me too

Just got my 2006 Blur today (Saturaday, Feb. 21st) too. I think you made a wise choice with the Blur. I hope everything goes smooth with the title. Good Luck!

My brother better known as BlueLightning sold me his second Blur for a very good deal. Thanks Bro! I stopped by the DMV and passed the written test today then headed straight over to the scooter super store off HWY 74 and picked up a matching helmet. I am very pleased with the orange, black, and gray color combination.

The Blur is really my only means of transportation right now other than my wife's Pink Mini Cooper. I try not to drive it whenever possible. I usually walk to work (2 blocks) but the scooter will get me to baseball practice and other places around town. I drove it tonight, but it was a little cold, so I didn't go far. I will post some pictures soon! I need a good lock that is effective but inexpensive if anyone has any advice. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

:D I can't wait to drive tomorrow.

Welcome to the brotherhood guys! :D
The more you ride your Blurs, the more you're going to appreciate them.

hope you both enjoy your new rides - Blur's rock!

to crayonman, pink is not an available MINI Cooper color - so what is up with that? My daily driver is a MINI, but I wouldn't be too excited if it was pink!

just wish it was warm enough in The 'Nati to scoot today!

Welcome aboard! It only gets better from here.

Enjoy the new Blurs!

Oh, I almost forgot. The first thing you should do, if it's not done already, is install the Stebel Nautilus horn. The stock meep-meep horn is laughable at best.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you. I'm a bit concerned for you though as when I went to look at that scoot back in January (before I got my Blurs), the owner didn't have the title then either. You would have thought he would have went through the trouble to get a new one instead of procrastinating and waiting longer, especially when you have it for sale. I told him back then how do go apply for a lost title at the Hapeville, DMV office where they will print you one up on the spot.

Is he applying for a lost title, because he is the only one that can do that. And like I said, if he goes to Hapeville, they print it on the spot.

he told me that he applied for one on monday, and they advised him it would take 7 days...

it's probably not the smartest decision i've made, but in the end i decided to trust him on it. hopefully that doesn't backfire. maybe i can convince him to go to hapeville with me...

Well, if he went to any other DMV office, that would probably be the case.

Good luck, hopefully it will all work out.

woohoo!

Post by fs8gbe »

alright, got the title in my hand and i will be driving that sucker tomorrow...

i am usually a pretty good judge of character, and wouldn't normally have dome that sort of thing (buy a vehicle minus title) and had some doubts over the past week, but now i am feeling great...

if it will warm up over 45, i'll start using it to commute (30 miles commute one way, so no frozen rides for me)

I'm glad that worked out for you. I was a little concerned... but then again, I have a very close relationship with procrastination myself, so I could see how that whole title situation could play out.

Enjoy the ride!

@lostmycage: yeah i've been torturing myself by keeping off the darned thing this far...so this week is just going to be nuts. maybe i can take a half day thursday. hmmm...

hey for georgia riders...am i reading correctly that i have to get a certificate of inspection before i get a tag? or is that just if i buy it brand new? i'm wondering how i can ride it to the dmv (without a tag) to get this certificate filled out so i can get a tag...

surely that can't be right?

If the weather's anything down there like it is up here, not riding is the easy choice at the moment. We got 7" of snow the past two days (that's VERY rare for Central VA!). But on the bright side, it's supposed to be 70 on Thursday.

Yeah.... I can't figure that one out either.

Good luck with your tag!
