Lost keys to my 2007 Rattler 110

Post by esyrdr »

I have lost the keys to my 2007 Rattler 110. I called the dealer from which I bought the scooter and was advised that they (the dealer) could get the scooter, remove the ignition, and take it to a key maker in Tallahassee. If I take the scooter directly to the key maker, it will cost more than taking to the dealer ($130 to dealer; $150 to key maker). I thought this was too much, so I called another key maker in Marianna, FL.
They will charge $25 if I can remove the ignition and take it to them. They also said that I can bring the scooter with the ignition still in and this would cost a bit more.

My question is this....what is the best (easiest way to remove the ignition)-all manuals are under the seat which is locked, of course.

Thank you for any tips.

pull the front panel off, it's one screw above the head light and four screw son the other side by your knees, right near the cig lighter

you should have no problem getting the ignition out then

Call up a locksmith and see what it would cost to make an impression. Impressioning is taking a key blank, inserting it into the ignition and rocking it back and forth. Then they look for marks on the blank and manually file you a key. I had this done for a car a few years back. Took them a less than an hour and the key worked perfectly.
