Dealer Prep Fee Roughhouse 50 - fair amount?
What is a fair amount for the dealer prep fee on a Roughhouse 50? Just trying to see what others are paying.
Thanks.

Well....
I can't really complain, as I won the scooter in a drawing. However, I'm a little concerned when I asked the shop what they charge to de-restrict it and the response is "Do what? What do you mean?"
The setup fee is 299, so basically I'm getting a Roughhouse 50 for 300 bucks. There is another dealer, fairly nearby, who knew exactly what I was asking about and seems like a great shop.

$299 sounds like they are gouging you because they know you won it

Heck, if you don't want it, pay it anyway and sell the thing for a couple grand (or for $350 to meNabby wrote:I can't really complain, as I won the scooter in a drawing. I went by my local dealer yesterday evening and the OTD price on a Roughhouse 50 is $2300. He explained that around $200.00 is the inbound shipping and the remainder being set up fees. I can understand passing the freight costs onto the buyer because we do the same thing in my business with boilers and other heavy parts.
I guess it may seem a little high, but I do live in the city and expected to pay more than someone living in a more rural area. Plus, I have the added bonus that the dealer is about three blocks from my house and could push the scooter there if I ever had a problem.
