Prima Pipe install on Rattler

Post by Ray Knobs »

Took about 15 minutes to get it on. I corked the breather from the gear box.
I didn't change any jets, just wanted to see how it worked.
Started it up and it runs great, same as stock.

sound=awesome
Have you ever watched the lumberjack competitions on ESPN? It sounds like a "hot saw"

speed = mehh

I lost some top end and it takes longer to get there. I stay in the city so i never have a chance to pass 50 but I want my acceleration back. It's either the same or a little less down low.

I am about 210#, 600 miles on the scooter total.

Anyone have some advise?

Yes, rejet! No fooling around.

It's a nice looking pipe, however I'm not convinced in and of itself, all other things equal, it makes any more power than a stock pipe.

I would estimate that yours is way too lean with the stock 85 jet & therefore makes less power than stock.

Do you still have the foam pre-filter in the airbox?

the whole setup is still stock except the pipe, I am going to pull the plug and look at it before i ride it again.

I doubt also doubt it will make more power but i did drop 10 pounds off the stock exhaust

I pulled the plug. It looked perfect it was the color of cardboard. I guess I did gain a little low end. I lifted the tire off the ground from a stop without trying.

In order to figure out if your main jet is correct from a plug reading, you need to do a full-throttle plug chop, & preferably on a new plug.

I now have a newborn in my house and can't ride this bike to work in the morning without waking him up. I gotta sell it. $60

like i said before, no top end gain, maybe no jetting change, increased low end, wild sound, strike fear into the hearts of your neighbors
