Black Cat Fuel Issue

Post by Betty »

I just love my 2006 Black Cat that I just purchased. Trouble in paradise, though, as today the gas gauge reads empty (after I filled it) and the scooter runs like it is not getting enough gas with occasional marked hesitation. I'm not really all that mechanical, but could probably repace a fuel filter or blow out a fuel line with some guidance. I want to learn all about my new love. Thanks very much!

Sounds like you overfilled the gas tank and now have a vapor lock issue. My R50's fuel gauge shows empty if I fill it to much. Remove the fuel cap and let the bike idle until it runs smooth, then replace said cap and take it for a test ride. Non vented fuel caps are usually the culprits to vapor lock.
