...in sub 45 degree temps & winds gusting to 25+ mph; a nice milestone, but the weather is just plain unfriendly...

How much does the wind cut down your speed? Mine being a 50 really struggles with the wind.

hard to tell; my weight @ 220 lbs doesn't help; I've had the spedometer pegged @ 57-58, but there is usually a 10% discrepancy (spedo reads 10% FASTER THAN THE BIKE'S ACTUAL SPEED), so 51-52 mph actual; also from what I'm told it is NOT good to keep 2T's wide open throttle for more than short bursts, so I try to use a steady acceleration, then let off, accelerate, let off, accelerate until I get to my comfort zone (depends upon posted speed limit)
