...or at least that's what i'm telling myself as an excuse to make it faster. I'm tired, and sometimes scared of holding up traffic. i have an 06 genuine 50cc black cat. yes what started out as having to ride a moped after a DUI has turned into an obsession. i have found some things, pipe, rollers, some kind of compression spring or something, jets and that's about it. i havent purchased them i cause because the add doesn't say what it actually does for the ol' ped. is there a big bore kit for this? also i grew up riding and racing motocross but i always had a mechanic that worked on my bikes so aside from changing the exhaust i don't know much about installing any of these parts. can an average mechanic do this in his garage? also i would like some slightly more street style tires. how fast do you think i can make this thing? i want to get speeding tickets on my moped. i would laugh all the way to the courthouse to pay it.

Moped? I thought that's only what people who aren't "in the know" call them. Mopeds have pedals..are there some on the Black Cat we don't know about?

Anyway, get a Malossi cylninder kit and variator upgrade. You'll get 70cc out of it and a top speed around 50. Throw some 6g rollers in it and it'll jump right off the line, but you'll lose some top end.

I have just come accross this video by Genuine, walking you through derestricting your scooter. I removed the exhaust restriction last summer, and got about 10 more mph. I can't wait to get my hands on an impact wrench and take the restricter off the variator!! http://vimeo.com/2575002
Good luck.
