Roughhouse 50 mods....

Post by jwarfield »

I picked up a RH50 two weeks ago and I love it! I got rid of my TGB Key West and haven't been happier. This thing handles better, has more pick up and a much higher top speed. I could get the TGB to 40-45 and this thing get well over 50!

What are some common mods for this scooter? I've installed black Buddy mirrors for better visibility, adjusted the headlight to get a little more distance in the low beam and installed a full size rear trunk with a brake light in the lid.

I've seen a front guard in the PGO service manual but as far as I can tell you can't buy them anywhere. Maybe I'll pick up a tubing bender and weld up my own version.

What are some of the things you guys have done?

Cheers!

Prima pipe seems to be popular (I have it on my rattler 50)
there is a kit from scooterworks that has the pipe, spring, jets, etc - my dealer did mine before I got it

yeah... the racks are hard to find - there are a couple guys that were working on their own front racks - but not sure if they ever started selling them - I have a "custom" rack on mine - made by a fellow MB member.

RH 50 mods success?

Post by mga84 »

What kind of performance improvement did you see post prima kit?

Any thoughts on whether the buddy stage 1 jet kit or the cylinder kit would workout with the Roughhouse??

Thanks

I did the Stage 1 kit on my Buddy 50. Pipe, rollers, spring, re-jet and I did an airbox mod. Looks and sounds better (I had the pipe ceramic coated in black) but not a heck of a lot in performance gain. Yes, it jumped off the line, but only gained 1-2mph. Played with the weights a bit, but not much. Would I do it again if I had another 50? Probably not. Your results may vary.
