Anyone here remove & replace the reed cage?

hit me with a question

Great. Can the cage be removed without pulling the pivot bolt/shaft that runs right over the top of the base of the intake manifold? I have an Aprilia SR50 cage & CF reeds to try.

if you could do me a favor and post a pic when you get it out. i'll do the same. i showed my local scoot shop and they looked at it and said " is that stock"? makes me think either the pmx and the rattler are the same and they have never looked in one or they are not the same and i can keep the one i have.

here is a rat 50 reed cage and mamifold ,i am looking for a manifold to fit a Carb Kit, Pinasco 19mm

That looks like the same cage as in the Rat 110. It is a decent cage. even the stock reed petals are OK.

yes it is a bit odd but i think that yamaha makes every one of the horizontal minerallies a little diffrent so you cant interchange all parts from one to another
that way if genuine sold there replacment parts cheaper then yamaha then those of use with yamahas would buy the cheaper oem part the genuine instaed of the yamaha part
i know i can get stock rattler/rough house front brakes cheaper then zuma stockers and the genuines are cheaper so i buy the genuine ones becasue they are interchangable

so there is no interchangabilty of these parts
the trans cover is alos diffrent i wanted to swap the vented rat cover onto my zuma but no dice there either

no one makes aftermarket reed cages for our bikes. it sucks but what can we do? the market of rattler owners is so few...... anyways as i have posted before the ARRECHE aftermarket carbs will bolt right on to your stock manifolds. other than that real machining will be needed. which would cost $$$$$$$$.

Why would you want a bigger carb on that tiny intake. I've opened mine up and it still chokes with a big carb. With the stock intake big carb=waste, from experience. A new intake is a must but I can't seem to find one.........

With a 72cc motor you'd be just fine with a 18 or 19mm carb.

i agree totally. with my experience with these bikes the 110 works well with the 21mm and the 70 work well with the 19mm.

bs just check out scooter attack out of germany they have rred cages

IMO the stock reed cage is actually pretty good!

scooter attack doesnt even list the roughhouse or the rattler on their menu.
also these cages listed under the other PGO bikes look like BWS style cages which DO NOT fit the PGO bikes so until you have ordered and tried this then probably not BS.......

real techs give info on what we know and have already tried.....
