You are crackin me up. First off make sure you do one modification at a time. I have learned that the hard way. Almost every mod will either re-jet or adjust the Carb. Other mods will need different roller weights. Just be careful. This is your uncle bigbropgo lookin out for ya. Its easy to screw things up. The stock clutch and bell aren't bad and the gains you see with the things you have planned might make you forget about other stuff for a bit. The variator might be nice down the road however. And messing with the weights might get you where you want to be. The clutch bell is 107mm. I'm not saying " don't do it". Just take it one step at a time. This forum has gained some people with great info lately. we are all learning together.
no i don't ride a scooter, i am a scooter pilot!

do just one mod at a time
i dont know how many times i have had to help some one figuer out what was wrong and when you ask them what is the last thing they did they give you a laundry list of things they added
you will have to tune things a few times but it will be well worth the extra time in the end as you wont have to figure out is it carb jetting wrong rollers wrong clutch springs wrong contra spring
now i will admit i have thrown a lot of parts on at one time but i have also built a few things over the years
and the key to knowing what will work is research research research
onec in a while you will get lucky and find a shop that sells and installs parts and they work on your make and modle
sp motors out of canada is a good shop for advice as they sell parts and they also mods scooters
but for learning good combos the best forums are european
now on to the parts you are thingking about
you wont gain much with a clutch and bell so unless yours is worn out dont worry about it and if you are going with the cast iron 2 ring malossi kit a stock clutch and bell will be just fine bein the rats run the 107mm (on the zumas and others that run the 105 2 shoe clutches its bet to upgrade to the 107 as some of the 105mm clutches dont play well with after market contra springs)
now onto a variator
you may gain a bit of top end what will be most noticable is that it will smoth out how the power hits just a but and they seem to tune a but easier then the stockers just rember to buy the right size weights i dont know what size the rat runs stock
but lets use the zuma as an example the stock varaitor runs 15mmx12mm weights and the after market ones for the z run 16mmx13mm
get your self a good set of tuning weights to go with the new varaitor then once you find your ideal weight order a set of quailty rollers in that weight
some guys on zf are running mixed weights (two diffrent weights of rollers) dont do this excpet for tuning and make sure to alternate them if you hav to do it for tuning
now if you want to think about the over range you may have to clearnce your case and you wont be able to run a stock belt you will be stuck using the special over range belt
i like the stage 6 varaitors you get a bit more top end then the athenas and i think there quilty is great for the price
