my bike will start ,i have to take off the air box and cover the carb air intake, once it starts i have to loosley cover the intake with a rag ,so not too much air can get in (restrict) the air ,steve said and i have read that the main jet only kickes in at mid range ,the needle is at mid range ,top is more lean ,bottom is more rich,it is jetted at a 85 now,ITS LIKE ITS GETTING TOOO MUCH AIR ,sounds simpple ,let it warm up than turn up the idle screw and adjust the air screw ,but i cant get it to idle in the first place ,if i get running ,and put the air box on it revs way HI AND BOGS OUT (like it floods out )too much air ,,Now my air screw is adjested at 1 1/2 turns, and oh yes i put new reeds on to make sure the stock plastic ones did not melt when it ran hot and sized ,it runs good if i moniter how much air it gets ,do i need a new air breather? couls it be that my idle jet ,the one next to the main jet is to big ?

ALL RIGHT , I BROKE DOWN AND REMOVED MY KIT TO MAKE SURE ITS ALL OK ,LOOKED GOOD,SO I PUT A NEW GASKET ON MUFFLER AND HEAD AND PUT HER BACK TOGETHER.BANG IT IS IDELING GREAT ,I WARMED IT UP AND ADJUSTED THE AIR/SCREW AND TOOK IT FOR A SPIN MY LOW RPM FEEL GOOD NOT ANY SPUTTERS ,BUT WHEN IT GETS TO 30 MPH IT SPUTTERS ,MY JET ON THIS 19 MM ARRECHE CARB IS A 85 ,THE NEEDLE IS SET IN THE MIDDLE ,HERE ARE PHOTOS OF MY PLUG

LOOKS GOOD ,MAYBE A LITTLE HOT BUT I STILL THINK I NEED TO RE JET AT A90 ,I DO HAVE A STOCK AIR BOX WITH THE SNORKEL REMOVED

ANY THOUGHTS OR SUGESTIONS?????

The main jet controls more than what you think it does.
When 2T's are lean they just don't want to run on the throttle...if a few steps lean they take FOREVER to accelerate (if way lean they won't even stay running); when 2T's are pig rich they WON'T run on the throttle...they blubber & stutter & CAN'T accelerate.
The plug reads LEAN. You HAVE to get the main dialed in first, & the best way to do that is to JET RICH and then lean it out - until it stops 4-stroking.
Try a 100 - 105 main to start, & I bet it will run much better. If it isn't 4-stroking with that size main jet then GO BIGGER until it does, then down-jet until it stops 4-stroking, & then trust the plug to fine-tune.
Presuming you get the right size main jet to match, your bike WILL run better with a Uni pod or Arreche RAB.
Don't worry about shimming the needle or adjusting the slowspeed screw until it will run on the throttle.
What type of choke setup is on your new Arreche?

WELL WITH THE 85 THE BOTTOM SPUTTERED A SMALL AMOUNT SO I READJUSTED THE AIR SCREW A BIT .THE MID TO TOP WAS BETTER SO TOMORROW ILL TRY THE 90 ,I THINK I MIGHT DO BETTER THE PLUG LOOKS GOOD BUT NOT RICH ,DOSE ANYBODY THINK I SHOULD LOWER THE NEEDLE?WELL TELL TOMORROW

i will tell you by those plugs you are way lean
the proper way to work on your jetting is to start rich and work leaner not start lean and work richer
and in the future if you have to remove the air box and block it off that means you are lean and not rich if you were rich you would need to remove the air box and not cover anything

Umm, no. I sugest that you get the main jet close before you start adjusting the needle height. Go bigger on the main. That said, needle height changes, all other things equal:
raise needle = richer
lower needle = leaner

well after taken my bike apart several times i feel much closer, i am a little sputtery in the low io mid range, than i want ,i cant seem to nail the air screw just right !my main jet is at a 90 ,it is smother than the bottom but still sputtery ,so i think a 85 will be the right one,the needle is in the mid range and my plug looks good the contact is tan to lt brown and the top is a lt black (richer) but not wet ill post photos tomorrow.
i was haveing some prob. with my top end and i was useing sliders ,so i switched to rollers (8grms) and fixed
well tonight i feel alot closer so ill see if i cal nail it down tomorrow, thanks for ALL THE HELP !!!! HOPE I CAN RETURN THE FAVORS, Ill keep all you up to speed
