Post by PGOPMX74820 »

im told this pretty much the same as a roughhouse. im have a problem of
once the bike sits over night the spark plug is drowning in fuel. im looking for what might be causing this. ive checked the float several times and it seems to be working

What year is your pmx. The valve under the fuel tank might be stuck. When the scooter is running or being started, a small diaphragm lets fuel come out. Not sure how it gets all the way to the plug. Definitely bad.

You could probably just pull the fuel line and see if fuel comes out. This is just my first guess.

You could test it first. Pull the fuel supply hose of the Carb. If fuel is just flowing then its open. Put the end into a can. Pull the other hose off the intake and blow into it. I used a compressor when I thought mine was bad on a older scoot I had.

I could be something else. I just thought that was an easy thing to look at and diagnose. Hate for you to spend the money if that's not it.

Is the air/fuel mix adjustment on the carb turned up all the way? I guess I didn't catch that it wasn't even running. I could just be dumping fuel in. The choke could be stuck in the on position also. I also have a pmx, but a few years newer and the 110cc. It has the electronic choke. I have heard of others having problems from time to time.
