Brand of clutch springs & compression springs

Post by laxer »

So I'm wanting to play with my spring setup, I wanna try a 1000 rpm compression spring and 1500 rpm clutch springs, but I can't definitively find what springs I'm supposed to use. On the scooterworks site they've only got the 2000 compression spring specifically listed for the Rattler. Can anyone tell me what brand of springs I should be using and where I can find them? Are the clutch springs just the basic NCY ones? Any help is greatly appreciated as my local shop is not positive about this, either. Thanks.

I'm looking for both clutch springs and a contra spring, I've got the stock clutch and variator.

So...nothing. Does that mean I have to switch out the clutch n' stuff if I want to play with the springs?

I'm not sure you can change the stock clutch springs. You may need an aftermarket clutch. I'm still trying to get the right feel out of my HiT clutch. Great once moving but jerky as hell at takeoff. Gets worse as the clutch bell heats up. I think Malossi has a Delta clutch available, dunno if it works with the stock bell or not.

You're probably going to be better off with a performance clutch. I'm not aware of anyone who changed out the springs in the OEM clutch. You might be the first.

Looks like I'm SOL on this one. Why the hell is there so much support for the Buddy and virtually NOTHING for the Rattler!? Very frustrating.

Well, it turns out that the NCY springs that are listed for the Zuma will also work for the Rattler. I'm gonna give those a try and I'll let y'all know how it works out.

just to swap out the springs isnt going to really give you much of a gain ithink the rollers need to coincide with the spring changes?

Yeah, I've got new sliders in the mix as well.
