How do you ride your rattler?

Post by drekati »

The shape of the Rattler seems to allow several riding styles. Ive seen some reviews where people complain about the cramped riding position but ride it like a buddy with feet flat on floorboard. Not sure why they do not use the silver foot pedals. I find myself riding chopper style with legs stretched (front pedals) or even sport bike (back pedals) depending on if Im cruising or sporting.

I do a mixture of both, as you said, it depends on how I'm riding or what mood I am in.
but mostly I ride it like I stole it!

Mainly flat on the floorboard, but if I need to stretch I'll either slide back onto the passenger section of the seat, or use the front "pegs", or both.

When I corner, I tuck the inside foot back onto the rear "peg", which seems to help and allows me to easily slide off the seat a bit if I'm going for some fast Lee Parks style cornering.

Lastly, if I have to go over really crappy bumps, or a speed bump, or other butt-slammers, I slide both feet onto to back pegs, squeeze the body with my legs, and stand up a bit so that I can absorb the bumps with my legs motocross style.

I'm all over the place, though I find that my positioning on the seat dictates where it's comfortable to put my feet/legs. Around town I usually sit near the front of the seat with my feet flat in the center, though I often scoot back on the seat and switch between having my feet up front and in back as Scalpel described. For straight low traffic blasts I'll often slide all the way to the back seat as well.

I even sit cross-legged or with one leg crossed under sometimes, especially on a straight boring empty road!

(I'm 5'10" so quite average size)
