gonna do a little port work on the rat -have some chamber work to do and a few other ideas-mainly a tried and true chamber mod to increase my torque by 25%{send me you cyl head and ill do it for ya}
been really good so far but still needs more donkey-but either way i have
over 8kmiles so i gotta re-ring it any way
anyone with experience in this engine ported them?
just a little curious if theres any special dos and donts

I don't have any experience with port work. But on scooterinvasion.net. they seem to be obsessed with it. A few guys have posted their work and some equations and advice. Not sure if they have what you need, but maybe.
no i don't ride a scooter, i am a scooter pilot!

narrowing and re angling the transfers to face more toward each other to increase scavenging efficiency at lower rpm then raise the ports to proper port time area. this will give you more low range torque

read the two stroke tuners handbook by gordon jennings for your equations .
The rattler engine has a long stroke limiting its high rpm abilities, thus improvements in low speed pumping are necessary.

I have ported a few rattler cylinders and only modified the exhaust to 60% of bore due to the rest being so small and impossible to reach without very expensive tools. Whopping improvement in high rpms slight loss in low end torque. and they tend to burn up in 3000 miles or less. ITS NOT built for high revving power.

just gonna be a mild cleanup not toooooo much hogging out
i know the crank is stressed enough already
but would like to build up the torque and lower rpm
