I'm gonna repaint and refinish the front panel, look for a brighter headlight, mess with my slider weights a little more, and hopefully add the Arreche 21mm carb. We'll see if it actually all happens, I just bought an $800 pickup truck that needs some love as well.

Well I am in florida so, we don't really have a "winter" so to speak, but I am getting a new set of tires for her probly this weekend, nice looking tires with some meat to them I.E. a bit knobby, for the trails. Gonna get a new belt and sliders. Seriously considering getting it wrapped in digital camo and getting a set of saddle bags of some type.
Don't really want to mod the engine too much, cause well, she really is fast enough for the riding I do with her, and I've already grenaded a stock motor can't imagine what i would do to a moded one.
Also looking at an Elite 250 that is a great deal, to add to the stable, that might get the saddle bags though?

Since my Rattler is now paid off, I have stripped it completely down and am building it into a mini-"bobber" type motorcycle thingy. I'll post pics when I learn how.

Awsome. I have a ton of curious questions. But I think I'm going to just watch it happen. When I said "mods", I'm just thinkin paint and engine tweaks. Your changing to whole identity. Awsome. How much plastic is going back on? Is it going to run a ridged rear frame? ok ok, so two queations.

No plastic is planned to go back on and I'll be running the wiring loom down the new top tube (under the tank) instead of through the floorboards. As for the rear end, I'll leave it as is, with the shock remaining...I don't like the idea of putting the stress of all those bumps on the engine cases and mounts.

Funny thing happened to me one the way to get my new tires, I get a flat! On the way to the shop just cruisin along and all the sudden the back gets all "Squishy" and it starts floating all over the place

pulled in to a gas station, and looked that small wear spot I had was now a small hole!
2nd time I've had to put it on a tow truck in a month.
Oh well, I was on the way to the shop anyway, no harm no foul.
While it's there I'm goin ahead and putting the new belt, rollers, and brakes on.
If your tires look like they might be goin bad get them replaced please, I've learned my lesson. Incidentally I did get over 9k miles on that back tire and the front looked like it could go 9 more...

Little update...finally found a tank I liked. It's off of some sort of Honda dirt bike...and yes, it WILL be flat black! I've also decided I may keep the original Rattler headlight system. I have it mounted in one pic...tell me what you think. Also, the pic with just the tank and seat and no headlight piece is a little misleading; the tank will be mounted about 2 - 3 inches higher than depicted there. I also think I will be ordering and mounting a metal tractor seat instead of the Rat seat just for kicks. I also reconfigured the wiring harness to follow the new upper back-tube under the tank. Took some doing and stripping of the black tape wound all around it, but I think I got it. Here are the pictures;;;;;
Here it is photoshopped a wee bit (on paint) so you can maybe see it a little better without a buncha junk behind...

Okay. A couple concepts...I'm asking for your input. One, with projector driving lights only and the other with projectors AND Rattler headlight set-up. Whattaya think? Which one? I'm leaning toward the projectors ONLY, but I'm still soliciting input...

Ratbike.org. quite a few gems. Total ruckus has a "scooters of the apocalypse " thread that's 76 pages long. They also have a skelly crew with a bunch of stripped down Honda elites. Tons of cool stuff.
I'd maybe do a combo of both light setups. I thing the projector would prob be an upgrade for lighting. The stock plastic would protect the ignition switch, horn and blinker relay. But you could cut it up too. Dunno, cool project though. I think the stock seat still looks good. If the ped bucket is gone and the fuel tank, you could lower the seat a bit. This is your vision, so do yo thang.

Bucket and tank are already gone. Sits about 3 inches lower in the seat right now...

I like the quad light setup. The modified pig-nose is true to the heritage.

I second the 4 light setup looks good, I like that you can't see all the "guts" underneath it.

...a little more progress on the Ratster. Using the original floorboard...I need to cut it down a bit to look just right. I'm also going to be using a flat-style seat (I'll make it myself) in roughly the shape of the one in the picture. Padded, though...

Horn? I have a finger. Blinkers? I have arms.
...and yes, ratbike.org is a hoot of a site...I'm on it several times a week. Will be submitting pics of the "Rattster" when finished.

Well, I ended up putting the original headlight back on...also bought some new black drag bars and put them on. Better. Still considering a homemade seat...don't really like the original on that custom (botched) a scooter. No pics yet...maybe tomorrow...
