2008 rattler problem..HELP

Post by Liquidkool »

Its a 110 with 2100 miles and seems to have a recharging/electrical issue. During riding my horn doesnt work and my turn signal will work for a few flashes then ert ert ert and my screen goes out. Then restarts itself after i cancel the signal. i have no electric start(rarely use it) and some times i loose power to the screen when i hit the brakes.. WTF
BTW this is all on a freshly charged battery just off the tender..Should i get a new battery or what? If so what do yall recommend. Thanks in advance for any reply.

Could be a bad battery or it could be your charging system. Put a volt meter on the battery. It should read over 12.6V. When you turn the scooter on watch the voltage. Hit the starter or turn signals to put some load on the battery. If it drops below 10V then it is toast. When the scooter is running you should see something over 13.5V if the charging system is working.

My 50cc rattler had a ground issue with the safety switch on the brakes. It fried my dash, burned my front brake. Not fun.

Could be anything from a bad ground to a short from compromised or cut insulation.
