Rattler trip-meter

Is there a way to turn it from counting in 100 meter increments, to counting in miles? Otherwise the trip-mater is worthless as tits-on-a-boar. Anyone?
I didn't realize that it was in meters. Crap. Why-oh-why is the regular odometer in miles??? This means that my gas mileage is WAY lower than I thought. Crap. I'll have to note the odometer reading next time.
And no, you cannot change the settings.
FWIW I'm going to run the GPS on it for a couple of days to figure things out.
