Speedo problems
Anyone have any troubles with the digital speedo unit?
My dealer order a replacement (under warranty) & he should have it soon... but I am just wondering if anyone has had the following problems...
Every 4 or five miles the speedo flashes (like when you start it)
Every 10 or so miles it does the flash thing & I loose 5 or so miles from the odometer (yes... if it was at 85 - it jumps to 78 or so)
My speedo freezes once in a while.
My trip just jumped to 8,734 (but odometer did not change)
My dealer says he has never seen these problems & assumes a new unit will fix it.... I am just wondering if anyone else has seen this.
By the way... the left button on the unit - the manual says "no function" - is that correct?
Thanks

no problems with mine. sounds like maybe somebody had their last day at the factory and didn't solder a wire right. and to my knowledge the button doesn't do anything....although maybe over sea's it has a function that they didn't think we needed here.

I know this is a way old post, but, my odometer is slowly disapearing-at about 500 miles it started to fade the last two numbers now at about 2500 miles it is damn near all gone. My dealer just went out of business so I'm kinda between a rock and a hard place as far as replacing it.
any suggestions?

nope the one I bought it from was already 50 miles away, now the nearest one to me is in Miami over 100 miles away
it's gonna make getting any repairs that need to be done a real pain, but whatcha gonna do?
I'll try contacting genuine to see what they tell me.
If I do get it replaced, then my millage gets set back to zero i'd assume, I guess that's okay cause I don't plan on selling my "pig" anytime soon.
This is a little problem but it is quite annoying.

wow, this is starting to look like a common problem, I guess ya can't really replace good old analog. Any- who I'm sure it's easily replaced I just need to find a dealer to do it. If i look at them at an angle I can make out that I have 02458 miles on the thing but if your looking at in straight on it looks like this 0____? i'll keep ya posted after I speak to genuine.

I rode with two other scooter friends last weekend, we were all doing the same speed on a straightaway as a test to see what are speedos read. When we got to the next intersection, they said they were cruising at 62 (they have 150s) and mine said 53. That's a considerable difference, but I think I can say mine was most accurate.
