Q: I have a screw imbedded in my rear tire (Black Cat) and therefore have a slow leak.

How are these tires repaired? Are they tubed or tubeless tires? (I have on the stock tires)

Will I have to remove the tire completely to repair????

HELP!!!!!

For a $40 tire... I'd just replace it. Not worth your safety to try and plug it.

Sorry, I know this is an old topic but your answer has me curious: is plugging tubeless tires not considered a reliable means of repair?

Tire Safety involves alot of things... miles, weight, road conditions, weather,,, and the list goes on. When a tubless tire has a fracture extra care needs to be given in it being safe,,, remember you are riding on just two,,, if one fails at high speed (on a scooter i feel 45+),,, u do the math... in my veiw "which may be overlooked" ... Replace the tire... using a plug to patch a scooter tire is used to get you home... I know some are saying iv patch my tire and it was good for another 5000 miles... thats them,,, your life may depend on it...

another thought,,, just adding them little valve cap thingies "BLING" will though a tire out of balance... putting a tire on a scooter rim is not all that hard with proper tools,,, balancing a tire on the rim takes talent,,, and the right tool...

What about patching the tire, installing an inner-tube and then put Green Slime in the inner-tube.

Would that be unsafe?

If you are going to go through all that, you might as well just replace the tire.........

I just experienced what Major Redneck described, ugh. Scary! Figured I'd toss in my $0.02. Don't use any kind of fix-a-flat or slime or goop or whatever. It will gunk up your rims something fierce! And sometimes it can make your tire slippery.

Slime will also make your tire unbalanced for the first few minutes until it re-distributes itself evenly, and add weight to your wheels. Two things you don't need. I've used it in ATVs before, where you wouldn't notice the slight balance issue or weight.
