reed valve settings

I put a big boar kit on my bike this wk end and i am jetting the carb (rattler 50) i need to replace the reed valve and wonder if anyone knows what the settings are??

I think the only setting for the reed valve is 'present'. What kind of settings are you talking about? The reed valve is a block of plastic with thin reeds screwed on to it that regulate the intake to the crank case. I would not adjust lift at all by bending or removing the stays. Why do you need to replace the reed valve. Do you mean you are going to use some reeds that came with the cylinder kit (big bore kit)?

there is no adjustment for the reeds and as far as i know there are no aftermarket reeds available either.

the only reason to upgrade is if you rev the engine a little higher. stock reeds can flutter in high rpms where stiffer reeds will still snap solid at high rpms
