Hey everybody,
New to the forum. Picked up a Rattler 110 and thought I'd show you what I've done so far.
Custom paint done by Tony Gullo of Santa Cruz California. (He's a super talented painter and rider who recently painted an '08 tri-color Ducati 1098 that was featured at the 2008 Laguna Seca Moto GP and signed by every big name in attendance including Casey Stoner). We went with Ducati Red and white number plates. Throw-back WSB style.
Following the suggestion of bykpimp, installed the Protaper KX High Bend bars. They're awesome, my knees thank me.
Pipe and 2000rpm spring came with the bike. Jetting, Pod air-filter and bigger carb are in the works. When are they going to release an appropriate sized carb (like 24mm) for this thing??
I'm not sure why some people hate on scooters. Around town this thing is more fun that my "big bikes". I can't get enough of it.

I think it would be very expensive if you paid retail. If the painter is your buddy it is much less painful.
I watched the whole process and it was allot of work. Multiple cleaning, scuffing and prep stages. Several primer, base and color coats of paint. Hand masking for the number plates and pin-striping. More color coats, clear coats, baking, polishing. I had no idea it was so time consuming or how much the paints used cost per ounce!! Plus you can figure that most painters charge 75-100+ $per hour. This took about 7 hours of no BS, fast efficient work. It is very cool to see a good painter in the spray booth. I was amazed by the technique, efficiency of movement and speed in which he was able to work.
Doing the quick math on labor time and materials you would be pushing close to $1500-2000(depending on how elaborate your paint scheme). That is assuming that you remove your own plastics and that they are in near perfect condition(no deep scratches, cracks etc.).

The pics hardly do the scooter justice. It is simply stunning!!!! To the best of my nicotine/caffine saturated memory the paint scheme dates back to 1987 when Ducati launched there first 4 valve superbike, the 851 Raymond Roche was the first to win on it. Then an American by the name of Doug Polen stamped his Authority on the series (WSB) I was fortunate enough to Race an 888 SP3 back in the day. It left quite an impact on me so to speak. I was one of the first in line to have a 916 and raced it with a little success. The Red and white schemed paint was always the the sign of the "SP" version whereas the solid red was the standard version...........Sorry for the ramble, I do get carried away at times.
