My brother Brady, my good friend and local shop owner Jake and myself went on a ride to Swan Valley, ID about 110 miles round trip half of it in river canyons

I would, I may not be able to go fast enough but I've been riding almost everyday since march.

45mph at 0 degrees is much much colder then 55mph at 60 degrees.

I guess we'll have to go the weekend after jerome.

Last year, I started looking at Burton jackets (particularly the esquire and Apres) and wondering what it would take for them to be good riding jackets. Mostly, I like the fact that they have a number of cool designs and fabrics (stripes, plaid, houndstooth, etc.). Okay, so I really want a plaid riding jacket. I know the shells are somewhat abrasion-resistant, but probably wouldn't hold up on asphalt. And designing a jacket to contain armor is a totally new thing—it introduces a number of additional considerations. I've already unsuccessfully tried adding armor to a riding jacket i bought that doesn't have any—it really needs to be designed for it to work.

So basically it would take a whole new jacket.

Maybe I just need to write Burton and encourage them to enter the market. Or maybe see if I can find some plaid Cordura.

how about adding it to the outside of hte jacket? It kind off kills the whole design of the jacket, but maybe you can incorporate some designs on the armor as well.

Ha, that's an idea, but... The armor I got (from Aerostitch) comes in the nylon pockets which can be Velcro'd. While high-strength Velcro will hold on the inside in a crash, not sure about on the outside. Same goes for the nylon pockets and any kind of stitching I could do.

Maybe the '08-'09 Corazzos will have some new colors. Don't know if they produce enough quantity to make patterns, though.

It's a 1 gal that he took as a precaution.

Ya, there's tons of Buddy scooters in Philly, too, but I don't know any of 'em! I ride with a friend who has a Chetak. I need more scooter friends. I've been trying to peer pressure my friends into buying scooters, but so far no one has taken the bait.
