Well, I'm not likely going to have time the rest of the week to get my REAL shot at a golf course, but I already took an extra shot related to the subject, just for fun.

Maybe I'll get a real entry in by the end of the week but for now, since we're talking about gophers, here's my scooter in front of Caddyshack's own Judge Smails' house (as seen in the movie):

If I can get a *real* entry for points, I will, but that's all I've got for now! (Interestingly enough, the house IS on a golf course, but of course there's no way to tell that from this pic!!)

After 10 days... I finally got my scoot back from the shop

4pts - You scooter at a golf course
2pts - If you are in the photo
3pts - If you are wearing plaid pants
1pt - If you are holding a real golf club

Total 10 points!

I threw in the Hawaiian shirt since I wasn't able to participate last week. Ahhh... who am I kidding, us fat guys don't need an excuse to wear a Hawaiian shirt. I am wearing it because it's Wednesday and I make plaid and Hawaiian look good!

Darling Daughter's boyfriend's roommate works in the pro shop at a local golf course. He says, "Sure. Come on over. We can get a photo!" So I cruise up the walkway to the pro shop -- and a VERY upset woman comes out fussing that I'm not allowed to park there. DD's-B's-R dashes out and says, "Oh, I forgot to tell you . . . " Great! Now I'm going to get the kid fired, he won't be able to pay the rent, DD's boyfriend will lose his lease, etc., etc., etc. And all for a Scavenger Hunt???

Well, yes, as a matter of fact!

So we placate the manager, I pull on my son's plaid flannel pants (he's a full foot taller than me), we do a quick pose, and voila!

4 pts - your scoot at a golf course (see the carts lined up behind me, and note the flag just above my right ear)
2 pts - you are in the photo
3 pts - you are wearing plaid pants
1 pt - you are holding a real golf club
3 pts - gopher (real or fake) DD's-B's-R had even downloaded and printed up a photo!

13 pts. total (or 10 if the gopher doesn't count

)

Nice shot.

I know I keep promising, but right now I'm with my Dad at his last chemo treatment. After which I WILL get to a golf shop, get some plaid pants and a gopher and take Scootle to the wet golf course for a photo.

OMG has this week been tough. I probably shouldn't have held out to find pants and the gopher...I'd be done by now.

Off to vote on next week.

Snuck into the local golf course, only got a few strange looks - so all and all a successful picture.. until I decided to actually hit the ball I had on the tee.. had to scoot out of there pretty quick! The gopher on my scooter is the stuffed animal from "Caddyshack", thought that was perfectly appropriate. I have the clubs and me and scooter sister Stacy both have the plaid shorts on.

This is the best shot, but I had to crop out the lady who had the nerve to be on the green behind me. She's walking toward the flag and I was tempted to beep the loud horn on the scoot just to teach her a lesson. By the way, she made the putt.

In this photo I didn't do any cropping, but the ranger who was taking the shot looked at me like my fat head was obscuring the flag so I crouched a little. I guess the befuddled look on his face was his normal expression. How was I to know that he should have been wearing the helmet?

This is just a random shot of Ronald McDonald in a golf cart. He's playing in golf events all over the region to raise money for his charity...the Ronald McDonald House. He did not have plaid pants, a gopher, a scooter or even a golf club. He gets no points this week.

This week I got the max 13 Points - LEGITIMATELY. No midgets posing as little leaguers, no photoshop, no sushi cards, no non-inflatable ducks. Nope. Got all the points fair and square.

Weather has been crap...note the argyle rain boots that clash so spectacularly with the plaid pants. Pig is another story and another game!

Thanks. Unfortunately, I have to admit I didn't ride there in the skirt. I put it on over my pants when i got there. I imagine it would've been invigorating though.

Anyway, a group of about 26 of us made a donation to the school & rented the gym for the night - we used a projector & pa system & showed
Airplane! - Caddyshack & Animal House

A good friend of mine is the event coordinator at a local hotel and this hotel has a theater room ... big screen, projector, 7-speaker surround and 6 leather recliners set up stadium style. And we get to use it for free! We watched all 6 Star Wars movies plus the Clone Wars cartoons, which was 17+ glorious hours. We've also watched Big Lebowski, Swingers, Glengarry Glen Ross ...
