Well, it wasn't planned, yet after the second plate was installed it just made sense which way to ride... thanks!

Oh - everyone in Oklahoma should be riding custom plates on the Italia as it perfectly matches their state plates. We made a trip to Tulsa to pick up the 150 and did not want to change the plate!

Seeing how you have a 125 and a 150, I assume you have ridden them both. What differences do you notice between the two?

Although we come from years of cycling, Scooters are new to us, only had these two for the past 3 months. Without getting technical here - the 150 has more guts - just looking at the rear end there is a big difference in the exhaust pipe to start. Have not tried to "drag race" them yet when you want to go the 150 can step up and leave the 125, yet the 125 is quite peppy maybe just not quite as strong although when held open - it will catch up to the 150 at some point - or it always seems to. We have not ran them in the country wide open to see top ends, yet both have hit 60 plus pretty easy. We have the more aggressive driver on the 125 and the somewhat timid driver (having a blast) on the 150 (cause it's mine!). Hope this helps!

Which is the one with the windshield? I'm wondering what type of difference (wind drag wise) the windshield makes? I have one on mine and love it, but I just thought I'd ask the question since you are uniquely qualified to answer it! :wink: I weigh 160 and have not been able to get mine over 55mph--of course I live in the Seattle area and all the freeways have sloping hills to them, so that might have something to do with it.

Also, I notice they are painted identically. I just saw the 2-tone greens in 150s when I bought mine in June. Did the 125 come 2-tone in 2007, or did the previous owner paint it that color? Pretty neat that they look identical like that! 8)

Yup.

Also, looking at the picture, the 150 has the windshield. I don't have one, but I heard many members gained some top end when they installed windshields.

Well, nothing factual yet with the windshield - yet we hear and read it makes you more aerodynamic hence faster. The real test will be after we have ridden together for a while, and then when we add the second windshield, I will know how it feels because it will be on the same bike – ridden without and then with, side by side with the 150. Maybe then I’ll keep up better or at least easier! I guess this is a good reason to swap bikes every so often.

You are right – the 150 is decked out – windshield cowl protectors – foot pegs and rear top trunk The 125 right now only has the rear top trunk. Good eyes!

They are both identical International Italia models - the 125 is a 2007 and the 150 is a 2008. Now if we could just get our daughter to like green...

Yahoo! I hit 60 today! I got a nice long flat area on the freeway. :D I was thinking maybe I wouldn't be able to as I weigh 160 and I carry a 20 pound computer bag on my rear rack. Interesting about the aerodynamic idea....

Back to the thread though--that would be really cool to have 3 Buddys in one family. If you can't get your daughter to like green, maybe she would like a black or a white one that would contrast well when she parks between the two green ones. :wink:

Annual Fee in TEXAS $40 for a special scooter (motorcycle) plate.

No more than 6 letters or spaces. Pre-pick several options as many are taken - or check online at the Texas DPS website for special plates. The fee is over your regular registration fees.

Ya - she wants RED even though her fav color has been ORANGE for several years. We just stumbled onto these and grabbed them. May have a Italia International 4 Sale this Fall.

whoopie!! i hit 70 last night on the highway as well, slightly going up the hill though, i was impressed 8)

Well, on the 125 I get an "out-of-balance" feeling, yet by 55 it is gone and smooths out. It is more apparent if I pull one hand off the handlebar, so much so, I won't do that in that speed range unless absolutely necessary.

Now, a few years back (well MANY years back) I drove a '68 Chevelle Malibu special built small block with a very highway geared rear end and it always got skittish about 95 mph, yet anything over 100 it ran smooth as silk - almost like it floated and there was plenty of power left. It had a Muncie tranny and third wound out about 115 before easing into fourth...

So sometime this Fall we will have to go out for some tests on the different bikes the way they are set up and see what they will do with both the speed and stablity.
