Scooter Photo Scavenger Hunt 2010 July Week 3 BBQ

Post by Tony McGurk »

Remodelled Theme for week 3:
Even though Syd was only joking about a Crematorium BBQ Theme being sick & offensive, I thought about it deeply throughout the day decided that it could seem wrong or offensive to some people & I wouldn't want to cause anyone to feel like that.
Therefore this week's theme is your scooter with a non-crematorium related Barbecue. It can be a public one or one at your own home or anywhere else. Come on & get excited about the hunt this week. It's a big points scoring week with a possible 46 points up for grabs.

Points list

Your scooter with a BBQ = 5 points
Bonus points
1st person to post their picture = 2 points
Yourself in the photo = 2 points
A BBQ apron on you or your scooter = 2 points
A pair of BBQ tongs = 2 points
A bottle of cooking oil = 2 points
Box of matches = 2 points
Firelighter cubes = 2 points
Charcoal = 2 points
Sausages = 2 points
Chops = 2 points
Steak = 2 points
Pork ribs = 2 points
Chicken = 2 points
Burgers = 2 points
Any other type of meat = 2 points per different type
Onions = 2 points
Eggs = 2 points
Drink of any sort = 2 points
Super Duper Bonus Points
If the food in your photo has been cooked on the actual BBQ with your scooter = 5 points

Entries close at midnight Sunday 1st August YOUR local time. Please list your own individual points tally for each item included & your total points score with your photo.

General Rules for every week:
-Only one photo may be submitted by each member for each week’s Theme (but if you get a better photo later in the week, POST IT with your new points - PLEASE edit your original post note that you posted a better photo and note in the newer post that it is a replacement for a previous photo.
-Old photos you have can NOT be used - they must be NEW photos taken the week the photo Theme was posted
-No Photoshop submissions
Any questions just PM me
OK now what are you waiting for??? Go & get that photo!!!

Wow, this is a hunt! I found me a crematorium, now I just have to decide if I really want to go through with the bbq theme. Leave it to the Tasmanians!

In consideration to Syd's comment I have cancelled the Hunt for this week. Maybe someone else would like a go at it....

NONONONONONONONONO
Don't do that! Please?

It's too bad that inflection doesn't come through in (my) writing. This Hunt idea is absolutely hilarious. I'M IN!

I don't know about this hunt, just seems wrong for some reason :P.

I will be out of town [SCOOTERLESS] :shock: for the rest of the week, so I won't be able to tag this one anyhow.

Oh, I just read above comments. Sounds like there are quite a few people that are interested in this hunt and Syd was only joking so no need to cancel! If someone doesn't want to do it, they don't have to. There is always a new one next week. :D

Note: The Hunt has now been un-cancelled. However it has been changed somewhat to a more socially acceptable standard.

Another Note: The Scoreboard including the Monthly Cumulative Points Tally for the McDonald's Hunt has now been posted at the end of that Hunt's thread.
Krustyburger took out the winning place with 12 points. Congratulations KB & a big thank you to all who participated. 8)

Thanks Tony. Sorry about the confusion. I hoped my comments were too over the top to be seen as serious. That's on me.

Can I get extra points if I set up my barbecue in front of a crematorium? (Just kidding!)

I'll grant 5 bonus points to anyone who is game enough to photograph their BBQ set up at the crematorium but I accept no responsibility if anyone gets offended by it or if the poster gets fined/arrested or a lifetime ban from the cemetery/crematorium. Any resultant offendings will be the personal responsibility of the individual poster. :roll:
As for me I will play it safe...

I hope the permanent ban would not affect me. I keep reminding my SO to just put my body in the alley for bulk trash pickup. :grin:

The good thing about bulk trash pickups is that you can go around the neighbourhood & scrounge up some good 2nd hand stuff. You never know who might scrounge your lifeless body Syd. You could end up in someone's front yard as a lawn or garden ornament :lol: :lol: :lol:

Or you may be used in an old movie remake.

It's the middle of Winter here in Tasmania & not really warm enough to be outdoors Barbecuing for dinner.
Therefore I did an uncooked BBQ photo & had to dig trays of frozen meat out of the deep freezer.

Ok... I am in
First off let me say that I really planned on getting a really good photo this week - the plan was that it would be minimal points, but a great pic. I headed out to the forest preserves along the Des Plaines River because they used to have grills mounted at the picnic areas..... but not any more.

But... I did shoot some video of the ride
topic16186.html

I had to settle for this grill that is behind a restaurant / tavern (they grill out Saturday nights)
Your scooter with a BBQ = 5 points
Yourself in the photo = 2 points
7 points total

Not what I was hoping for

Don't stop now, everything was going so well! I said before that I was going to be out of town without a scooter all week so I missed out. I just got back in about an hour ago. MAAAANNN I wish I had my scoot in them thar hills, it's NO WONDER they have like the biggest biker rally in the country there. Today was the first day of the rally and even though I had to catch a flight this morning and missed it, I still got the Sturgis 2010 patch. :P

Nice looking dog Syd. Maybe he/she will drag your limp body from the bulk trash pile & give you a proper burial. Dogs can be loyal like that...

Thanks everyone for the participation & I will keep it going as I really enjoy it. As long as there are even just a few participants it is worth the effort.
