Modern Buddy members jijifer and n2tattoos (from San Diego), BootScootin'FireFighter and Julebox (from Arlington, VA), and SkootzKabootz and I (Los Angeles) all got together Sunday for a great ride along and around the coast. We started at Rt. 66 Modern Classics in Marina del Rey, then rode up the Pacific Coast Highway, into the canyons east of Malibu, up and down the twisties then back along the coast.

The San Diegans continued down the coast, while the rest of us cut inland, through Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Westwood, Beverly Hills and finally West Hollywood. All in all, over 80 miles of all different kinds of riding, temperatures from the mid-60s on the coast to upper 80s in the canyons and a glimpses of all sorts of LA culture and landmarks.

These guys are all great riders (and people). I really can't think of a better way to spend a beautiful summer Sunday.

I didn't get many pics, but the others did and n2tattoos has video. Here are a few of mine. The full set is here.

Agreed! no better way to spend a sunny Sunday!

Today, when we went to drop off the RV250 Wayne rented and pick up his scoot, Julie and Chris were at Rte. 66. They helped us load them into the truck. It was good to see them again and we sure needed the help! Wayne and I stopped and went halvies on a foldable ramp so we could get the scoots back out!

Wayne and I both said it was a really good weekend and would have been GREAT if the flat hadn't occurred. Just didn't want to risk another blow out far from civilization. we were only 10 miles south of Rt. 66 and it was 15mins before they closed. The folks at Rt 66 were such troopers and stayed for and extra 1.5 after close since it took that long for the tow truck!!

I'll tell you what. I got to ride a bit on the back to the RV250 and was comfy!!

We loved all the riding. thanks for letting me hang WAY back :)

we has such an awesome day! I love riding in this area, and the city is great for riding as well. I liked the rental Sym, but definitely would've preferred a buddy for all those twists. We'll post our pics once we get back to homebase. You guys (and gal) rock, and I'd definitely do that again if we're back in town. The same goes for if you're ever out our way. It was like an all day rollercoaster ride.

You know what JP, I'm ready for another go at it. It's highly unlikely that we'll be relocating. I am definitely up for a 2 or 3 week ride up to Vancouver, staying at hostels along the way to keep it affordable. I got dibs on the Sym RV 250 at 66 Mod Classic. I really think Jule and I will make that trip, we can start an entourage.
