Okay, 1 of the two Blurs I picked up has a dead battery. I tried to bring it back from the dead with a trickle charger, but that isn't happening, so time for a replacement. I actually took the measurements of the stock battery and also what I thought would be the largest battery that would fit in the hole (L X W), but I couldn't find anything at my local wal-mart a few nights ago. One was very close, but I was a bit over on one of my measurements, so I wanted to double check before buying it. I also don't mind if its taller and I leave the battery cover off. That won't bother me. Infact, I would prefer to have a bit more amperage in the replacement. I think the stock battery is rated at 6ah's.? How big can you go? 8-12ah?
Does anyone have any specific part number for a battery that they know will work and where I can get one. It looks like I am limited to the top mount post type batteries where the battery terminal wires lay flat across and the bolt goes straight down. Not like some of the batteries I found where the bolt would be horizontal.
Near me local I have
- Walmart (a few of them)
- Sears
- Napa
- AutoZone
- Advanced
- O'Rielly's
I do have a scooter store that sells Vespa, Aprilia, Piaggio, but I think their prices will probably be higher?

When the battery in my Blur died, I replaced it with a Sears Diehard 9BS which is rated for 8Ah vs the original 6Ah. It's a bit taller than the original battery, but the plastic battery cover still fits fine. If you don't mind leaving the cover off, a 12BS battery rated at 10Ah will also fit.

Yeah, I don't mind leaving the cover off at all, so the 12BS, 10Ah sounds good.babblefish wrote:When the battery in my Blur died, I replaced it with a Sears Diehard 9BS which is rated for 8Ah vs the original 6Ah.
