These are the LED's I have in mine. I have no complaints so far, considering I have had them for 48 hrs and have yet to take a night ride. But they are brighter than my stock amber 10W bulbs, and I like that they have a good number of lights located on the sides to reflect off of the mirrored plastic. Good price too...

the little one I could never sell
my daughter and i built it together .
but if you guys like that here is something else i built for fun
1971 honda CB175 "turbo charged" it is only 36hp but it has full boost at 2800 rpm , pulls cleanly until 10,000 and it still gets over 50mpg
and yes i have a dyno at home

ok so here are the facts the stock 125/150 charging system only has a 80w output that is all you have to work with
add up all the dash bulbs , licence plate light ,headlight and running light
and you are at 53w now remember, that is what the constant draw is
now that leaves you with 27w or 2.25 amps to charge the battery with
so if you put a 55 w headlight in you are now left with 7w or .58 amp to charge the battery with meaning you ned to drive at full throttle for 8 to 10 hours with out using the turn signals to recharge the battery for using the starter
so hooking up the dead lights to runnig lights also takes away (if they are 5w each ) 10 w from charging the battery if they are 21w each the battery can never recharge it over loads the stator = dead stator
add up all the dash bulbs , licence plate light ,headlight and running light

Thanks for the info bikebuda.
How is it then that some people (according to various MB posts), at the same time as having the deadlights to running lights mod, are without issue able to upgrade their stock 35W headlights to the SilverStar H4 ST (9003), which is a 55W/65W bulb? This is what is confusing me.
I can always upgrade to the PIAA SuperPlasma HS1 GTX which is a 35W replacement bulb, but if the SilverStar can work, at half the price I'd like to give that a go.
Just having a hard time getting my head wrapped around this...
Thanks

Ok those people are the same ones who probably are using a battery tender at night
making up for the lost charge
look at it this way charging systems are like your own personal finances
---stator ----------- battery --------------- lights
-your job -----------your bank --------- your expenses
"YOU CANT SPEND MORE THAN YOU MAKE OR YOUR BANK WILL BE EMPTY "
remember no one ever wants to admit they made a mistake so everything they buy or do is wonderfull in reality it isnt these are the same people who live in a $300.000 house 2 new cars , maxed out credit cards and make only $30.000 a year . it may look good and all the bills are paid ,for now, but it will come crashing down
just as the charging system will burn up and the battery will run dead
do the math and save your charging system
try to eliminate load not gain it
like getting rid of bills not taking on more debt
swap out the dash bulbs for led + 7.5w
swap out the licenseplate light for led + 5 w

Oh if only I were as diligent and cautious and wise with my finances... if only I found them as interesting!
The battery tender could explain a lot. Thanks for going over this with me. I kept doing the math in my head and couldn't get it to reconcile. Why would all that extra wattage work for them and not me??? What was off? The battery tender explains it.
Think I will go with the PIAA option which adds no additional electrical load and that will be that. Silverstar fans speak now or forever hold your peace, er, piece...
Thanks again bikebuda.
