Ordering Parts from Dealer, no response
So I faxed emailed 3 dealers here in Oregon on Saturday for some price/availability on some Buddy 150 parts. Still no call back from any of them with prices.
Is this normal for scooter shops? I understand that some are closed on Mondays, but I thought I would hear something from them today.

While your email is probably on the computer and the fax is on the tray they might have had ten humans with broken scooters right in front of them when they opened.
There's nothing better than a phone call if you can't be there in person.
If you want to look at schematics and part numbers, prices, and possibly order any time of day or night just go to http://www.scooterloungeonline.com/ No waiting or wondering if someone got your message and they probably don't have a wide variety of parts in stock anyway.

Portand of Vespa (the local Buddy dealer) is closed Sunday and Monday this time of year. Rob the assistant manager, who I believe handles the orders, was off on Saturday.
I can totally agree with you about how dealers or the retail industry needs improvement when it comes to providing better service. Accept them for their imperfections and go do a follow-up call.

Oh come on, don't hold it in, tell us how you really feel.Ray Knobs wrote:while that website does have part numbers it SUCKS in function
some of the jpgs don't enlarge, you have to keep clicking back and forth since the image with the diagram is separate than the image with the part number

Perfect? No. Useful? Yes.
Its not a perfect world but I'm still working on it. Maybe another couple of weeks. Having a lot of trouble controlling the tides. Once that's fixed everything will fall into place and ordering parts will be unnecessary.

Nothing at all. Some people don't live close to a dealer, hence the invention known as the telephone to some, and the so called cutting edge technology, cell phone to others.Ray Knobs wrote:I guess if you can't do it right, just 1/2 ass it.
What is wrong with going to the dealer you bought the scooter from and talking to them?
Face time with your dealer is wonderful, glad you are close enough to do that, it is to your advantage.
An advantage to less than perfect but workable web sites is the opportunity to develop patience.
All adversity is an opportunity to improve one's self.

In my experience, I would not expect much of a response to cold faxes or emails to dealers for price quotes on parts. These are small and, hopefully, busy businesses. Replying to cold info requests is not a priority. My advice is work with your own dealer first, and work with any dealer face to face. (that is what has worked for me)

What parts were you looking for? I don't carry Buddy specific OEM parts, but I might be able to supply some stuff for you, depending on what you're looking for.
Have a look at my site (link in sig) and give me a call or email on Wednesday if you see anything you need.
