seafoam and stabilizer

Post by db »

Is it ok to mix both in the scooter and run it through a bit for putting it up for the winter?

I would pick one or the other. I prefer Sea Foam but others may disagree!

Do a search for POC Phil's info on fuel stabilizers, it is probably in the info for new members too. I go by his recommendation and just use Seafoam for everything. Good stuff.

I will check that out. So your saying that sea foam will also stabilize as well?

yes, sea foam is a fuel stabilizer as well. I have found that in my scooter (a Buddy 50) sea foam works much better than stabil.

Going to get it tomorrow. I miss the longer riding season in cincinnati already, I used the scooter every month but Jan, for the most part.

I already purchsed stabil, so I am going to give it a whirl.
I have never used a stabilizer before, but decided to this year so I can maybe ease off my routine of starting and running the bike every 10 days or so. I still have not added it to either scooter yet, this weekend may be the one.

that said I also try to ride in the winter so I hope it is fine to ride sometimes with stabil in the tank. Usually February is the month I can't even get a day in-spouse always does though.

It's also marketed as a performance enhancer, so I assume it's perfectly fine to burn.

On the other hand, there are a lot of things marketed as performance enhancers that I wouldn't put in my gas tank under any circumstances. ;)
