the rules for the class are it has to be a 50cc engine case to begin with and 2 studs per tire lug

Did you put on a knobby tire? What size tire did you use? That looked like a lot of fun. Thought about trying this on some of our frozen lakes.

here are some pictures of the tires used
on the rough house they are stock with 5/8 (silver rocket) ice screws with standard street tires inside of them with tubes
on the buddies we used pit bike 2.75 X10 knobbies with a wheel barrow tire as a liner, also with a tube

Ah, understood. So it's more of a "this is what's been approved to keep the playing field level" and not of a "no one's tried anything else". Gotcha.
The 'stich studs are almost $1/stud anyway...though state laws limit the number of studs you can have per wheel to much less than the rules/regs of that race circuit.
Looks amazing, though!
