Well, they're fresher. A few dealers in CA are starting to get some demo/floor models so hopefully we'll get to see them firsthand to know for sure.

From photos, the paint looks better, even better than my 2009's paint, that was supposedly improved from pre strike bikes.

they need to update the rest of the website... still alot of miss conceptions with what is printed...

first: the rattler has a 12" front tire not a 10" its been that way for years now...

2nd: there is not a two year roadside pickup,,, its a one year roadside pickup and a two year "bike" warranty,,, unless they changed it... a month befor my one year of owning a rattler i got in the mail a renewal forum to keep the roadside for another year... maybe they change it... but for me the two year roadside pickup is no true...

Two year roadside has been standard for a little while now. So while I wouldn't say that the wrong tire size of the Rattler is "a lot of misconceptions," you should write them at [email protected] and let them know of the error!

Thats o.k. i guess, all the colors look great to me. I'm still partial to the avacodo, but both the red and the mustard are appealing as well. If I got one I'd probably go avacodo or red, but I'd have to changes the brown ascents to black. The red and balck would match my jacket. I LOVE the idea of 140 mpg, thats one hell of a commuter. Out of curiosity, how is it switching back and forth from a twist and go to a shifty? Anyone have any problems with that. The reason I ask is that whatever I get when I step up here soon, I won't be getting rid of the 50, I love it and definitely want to keep it and ride it. I'm a bit worried that my reaction time would be off if I was constantly switching back and forth between manual and automatic, but maybe you just get used to it.

White or blue for me. I kinda like the avacado, but I'm not a fan of how the brown seat sticks out on it. i think white is going to be the "it" color so whenever it is I have money lieing around it will have to be blue for me

It's not that hard. It helps if they each have a different feel and seating position.

The trickier part, I imagine, would be going from a shifty to a TnG. The first pull of the clutch when on a TnG can cause a serious pucker moment.

That's never been a problem so far, but I pretty regularly end up kicking the floorboards looking for the foot brake.

i bought my rattler jan. 31, 2009,,, i used the roadside service once when the engine locked up from being preped with premix 2T oil... dec 23, 2009 a letter from genuine asking for something like $58 for me to contunue the roadside service for another year... trashed the letter...

i elected to go with allstate roadside service,,, it was less and covers all my rides...

One reason it is easy to switch between them is the nature of a CVT.

Stella has no tachometer- you shift based on engine noise giving you a feel of where the power peak is, and then you shift when the engine bogs if you overrev it past that.

With a CVT, RPM stays pretty much constant while the gear ratio changes, so, it never sounds like you are racing up to redline needing to shift.

As somebody mentioned, the big issue is in a panic stop, because every lever on the bike does something different.

In a sudden stop on Stella, you pull in the clutch all the way (left), put primary force into your front brake (right) and add braking force with the rear brake (foot).

Do that on a twisty, and in a panic stop you likely just locked your front brake (left), your rear brake (right) from giving it the force you meant to give the front brake, and you are stomping the floormat to no avail.

I like the Blue color and 140mpg, very nice. Storage would be an issue for me, I love the under seat storage of the Buddy.

The white looks more white on the website then in other photos. It's really a an off-white creme. And it looks freakin' great to me.

Yup, it has a roomy glovebox (ooh, my first mod may be a 12v outlet!) but no underseat and there's no way I could bring myself to put a topcase on it.

Your twisty must be setup differently. I believe that by design on CVT models, the left lever is back brake and the right lever is still front brake. The result would be similar; you may lock up your rear brake by your left hand grabbing on what your muscle memory tells you is the clutch, but your right hand would work the same. And your poor right foot would still be freaking out wondering what happened to the pedal that is supposed to be there.

Definitely no topcase. I want to keep those lines pure and pretty. I'll use my St. Tropez when I need on-scooter storage and to transport groceries etc. The Stella will be just for the ride!

(He says optimistically, hoping that he actually will be able to get one...)

No, Stella style dictates a rear rack with a removeable milk crate or wire basket. No topcases.

The glovebox is surprisingly roomy (Buddy needs one like this).

I use a messenger/laptop bag. Not only is is storage, it completes "the look."

im happy to say the website is now updated to the right size tires/rims on the rattler... thanks genuine for reading this forum...
