171 Kit, Big Valve Head, Cam, and Uni installed

Post by zsno »

Just got finished doing some major upgrades on my bike, figured I would post so any questions could be answered for you guys. Went with the NCY 61mm cylinder kit(cast iron), the 61mm head, and the NCY camshaft. All on a Blackjack. Also went ahead and removed the stock airbox and stuck a large uni filter directly on the carb. Jetted up from a stock 92 to 115, haven't had a lot of time with it yet. You will have to cut the second generic head cover mounting hole off of the head to make the stock cooling shroud fit, that or cut the shroud.

I have the same setup on my black jack, minus the NCY cam shaft. I just dropped down to a 115 jet and am finding it quite lean. I am going to try a 120 and then a 125 if it is still too lean. I started with a 130ish after I did the UNI and it was way rich:-/ let me know how the 115 works for you:)
Oh yeah what altitude are you at? I am at about 650'
