Oil Cooler?

Post by Len »

Does the Buddy 150 have an oil cooler? or has it only just recently been added to the 170i?

The 150s have one also.

Underneath right next to the oil filter.

On the 150 the cooler is between the battery box and the engine. I haven't seen the 170i in person, but in the photos it looks like the cooler is forward of the battery box.

Correct, the 170 oil cooler and filter are under the scoot, front of the battery box.

[sigh] Hopefully PGO isn't correcting a design mistake they made on our 150s. :)

It's a much bigger part, totally different, on the 170s.

Which makes sense. The 125 has no oil cooler, the 150 has a small oil cooler, the 170 has a larger one - and the GT200 Vespa is liquid cooled. Sounds like basic physics is telling the engineers about how much extra heat they need to scrub off as an engine gets bigger (in an enclosed scooter body).
