I swear, you and my wife are clones! Either that or are both telepathic.... then again, she won't get on a scooter. Yet. She says she's flying out to Amerivespa next year

Although she's volunteered to drive a support truck if we decide to go that route.
lol "yet" is definitely the key word there... I still have yet to jump out of a plane.. but it will happen eventually! Nice of her to offer to drive a support truck though!

We can't have underglo, or anything not on the front or back that looks even remotely cosmetic, and they are pretty strict about it. I had also been thinking about a milk crate, because I know the Buddy back racks tend are on the smaller side, and top cases are kind of expensive- plus, I've grown used to being able to bungee down a free-form to a back rack, instead of forcing something to fit in a confined space... so I was hoping the milk crate would be a nice compromise.
Anyway... I have to salute you for the Serenity idea. So much win. <3 Firefly.
That's kind of lame on VA's part... it just makes sense to allow for
something that can help make the rider more visible. But like I said, NY probably has some sort of regulations about it too, but if we do, it's not strictly enforced, everyone knows underglow is a no no, but it seems that anything else (within reason) is fair game.
I went with the milk crate because I can remove it in like 10 seconds if I know I won't need it. Also, (no offense to any of you that have them) I think the top cases are just kinda goofy looking. While a milk crate is not that much better in the looks department, it still serves the same purpose just fine, the only thing is that I can't really lock it.
I have 4 bungees on there it keeping it in place, and a bungee net over the top so nothing falls out, but I wouldn't carry anything of real value in there just for the fact that it cannot be locked. It worked perfect bringing home lunch yesterday though! Fits two, foot long subs in there quite nicely laying flat on the bottom, and they were still warm when I got home!
Oh, I should mention, I bought both a regular sized milk crate AND a "locker sized" one that is much smaller. I like the locker sized one much better because the two short sides don't have holes, it makes for a little less drag and wind noise. It also just seems a bit sturdier, probably because of the lack of holes, as well as it's supposed purpose for holding text books.
Locker Crate vs. Regular Milk Crate
I will post pictures of them on the scoot later today.
No power in the 'verse can stop me.
