Ball bearings under contra spring

Has anyone else tried this?

I tried it on my rear pulley and it makes the rear pulley's transition much smoother between open and closed. Downshifts more easily too.

Pinassco I believe is the pioneer of this. Malossi have "plastic" equivalent with no ball bearings.
