Scooter rental in Mt Laurel NJ?

Post by pugbuddy »

Does anyone know of a store where I could rent a scooter in Mt Laurel NJ for a couple of days? Not a lot of luck so far on the net.

Let me know!

Hey pug, I'm from Tabernacle, NJ and can tell you now, you ain't gonna find anything in Mt. Laurel. There are rental places down the shore, but not this time of year.

You're better off contacting Philadelphia Scooters and see if they can hook you up. That'd be fun riding a Buddy over the Ben Franklin. Or try polianarchy (she's one of the mods).

I gotta ask, why on earth are you going to Mt. Laurel?

Could it be to look for affordable housing? (Inside joke for NJ residents).

I may be attending a Pro Football Researchers Association meeting at NFL Films this June (with the goal of breaking into the film vault and stealing everything I can! LoL!). Would love to go but trying to avoid being tied to a taxi. I think scooting would be a fun option.

I was planning to hit up Poli. Not sure about the ride from Philly to Mt Laurel; haven't looked it up yet! Any and all information is welcome!

hey pug, that's cool. My mom rented her condo to a guy who was working at NFL Films. I had no idea they were down there until she told me.

Hmm, so you've never been to the area before? Lemme tell ya, there's a reason I don't live down there. That whole area is just sprawl, sprawl, sprawl. Traffic and housing developments and strip malls and traffic. Tabernacle is still nice because a building moratorium was put in years ago to restrict building on small lots and part of it is protected Pine Barrens. Let's put it this way, I don't visit unless I'm bringing a dirt-oriented bike to ride in the pines. It's just one Cardinal Ridge Estates and Blueberry Lane and ugh, it's miserable.

That said, some people like that. I'm a city girl with a rural heart. The inbetween doesn't appeal to me. But there are some really nice shops and you're not far from Philly where you can visit the Reading Terminal and have a Famous 4th Street cookie or some Bassetts ice cream.

I just can't imagine trying to get around without a car or some sort of larger personal motorized transportation. Are there even cabs? I can just see a scooter on Route 70 or 73. Oh my!

That said, if you do have time and love nature, the Pine Barrens are not to be missed. And the shore. There's nothing like the sand. Get down to Avalon or Stone Harbor (just pretty and non-commercial towns) or Cape May (did someone say Victorian?!).

Now I'm hungry for a Big John's cheesesteak and a Rolling Rock.

Here's my ride down from Providence last year:

The end of the ride down (first post at the bottom) sums up my feelings about that area.

Now to those of you who live in Mount Laurel/Marlton/Cherry Hill, more power to ya. Just not my cup of tea, just like plenty of folks would not like where I choose to live. I'm just grateful I have the choice.

pug, have a great time in south Jersey. I'm a proud native and never let these Rho'Dylandahs forget it.

The only real problem with going from Philly to NJ is they let you in for free but you have to pay to get out of NJ.
