question about avatar size

Post by scoobyjax »

Guys, I've been trying to upload an avatar for my profile but can't seem to get it right. when I reduce my picture to 128x128 and less than 16kb, my picture is super tiny....much small than the avatars of other users. I downloaded a couple of other member's avatars to check file says and it says 42kb. My question is, how do you upload an avatar that's 42kb? or what am I doing wrong?

Check that your image file is 72dpi. Whatever pixel size you make it, it needs to be 72dpi.

Use "Save for Web" to save your image. It optimizes the image and removes unnecessary image data to give you a smaller file size.

When you start out, are you viewing your pic at less than 100%? Sometimes after resizing the zoom level will remain at the value it was to begin with. So you might still be viewing your avatat at 20% zoom level.

The one under your drool.

It's the Cuppini logo for their vintage accessories.
