Hi! I just got my Buddy 50 a week ago tomorrow and I love it so much. I got mine for running in-town errands and I am amazed at how much I got done for less than $3 in gas. One of my errands in particular would have easy slurped a good $9. My car sits and watches forlornly as I take my scooter out. Sorry little gas piggie, it's a marriage of convenience and that's it. My little Buddy has stolen my heart. I live in St Louis and hope to meet up with other scooterists. I saw a black buddy coming the opposite direction in the Soulard Market area yesterday.

I'd like to get the 170i, after my 125 comes to end of its life. I'm worried about not having a backup kick-starter though (the 170i only has electric start).

I'm the only one we know of that has had a problem with that so far, and that's because I woke up one morning, went to scoot to work, and my battery had been stolen overnight.davidscooter wrote:I'd like to get the 170i, after my 125 comes to end of its life. If you're worried about it, you can alway buy a multimeter and start checking the battery after it seems like it's had a long life. Just remember you also have to check and make sure it carries a load, not just a stationary charge.

welcome to the world of scootering; it starts off as a habit, then an addiction, and finally an obsession
the 170i is a nice piece of machinery, but my budget didn't allow it so I traded in my 2009 Rattler 110 and got the 2009 Buddy 125 (I had owned several 4-stroke scooters prior to getting the 2-stroke Rattler and wanted to go back)
so far I am suprised by the zip of my buddy for its size and satisfied with the purchase...I do miss my Vespa LX 150 ie which I traded to get a motorcycle

I have only got to ride mine around the block so far due to some health issues! Can't wait to ride and get to pass the gas station and wave as i drive by It L.O.L.
