Yup.. finally took her out for my first ride!! Just in the residential neighborhood by my house.. I'm not sure I went much over 20-25 but it was so.much.fun. Ahhhh...
all ways just wait till you get comfortable on it. My dumbazz as been over tighting the clutch nut and messing the bearings up I GOT A BAD CASE OF SCOOTER WITHDAWL YES I SCREAMED LOOK AT ME FUNNY I'M TAKEN HEADS OFF wish I was kidding its bad
I cautiously say yes it is most of the time; the un-fun stuff happens when folks on the road don't see you (or don't care even if they see you) and increase risk to you; I do NOT intend to scare you, but to increase your awareness of your surroundings and remind you to ride defensively...
I urge you to find ways to make yourself more visible and 'stand out' so drivers are aware of you...something like a safety vest with reflective bands for riding in the lower light conditions, reflective stickers for your helmet and your scooter, and maybe even a safety flasher (that bicyclists use) for riding in low light and night time;

anyhow, have fun and be safe!
Even hi-viz doesn't work much of the time. I look like a neon clown and people still almost take me out. It's pretty crazy out there some days.
Sure. It's always some kind of fun. But what kind, and to what degree all depends on what you're doing.
When people think ALL it is for me is fun like I am some kid on a tricycle I sort of frown. There is actually much more to it then that. As you may find yourself....
Also, Hi-viz can only do so much, whether you look like a bright colored clown or a mysterious ninja, you're still probably the smallest, most vulnerable person on the road. Ride defensively, and anticipate everyone in a car trying to kill you!

That's what I was wondering too!
On my 3rd or 4th trip around the neighborhood on my very first day as a scooter owner I realized I was grinning ear to ear and my first thought was "someone is going to see me grinning like crazy and think I'm a nut." However, my second thought was "who cares! This is crazy fun!"
How many things in life make you break out in an ear to ear grin? I'm going to enjoy the heck out of this.
Most of the time, yes. But savor this feeling now. The exhilaration and fun that comes later is great but just not as novel and exciting as your first rides!
Odds of someone reading this thread crashing or even just laying the scoot down are pretty high. That day will not be fun.
Odds that some day some jerk in a car/truck will do something really stupid and piss you off, also pretty high. Won't be as fun, but it beats crashing.
