How To Drain Gas on Buddy 125... HELP!

Hello Everyone, I need help draining the gas from my Buddy 125. I just bought it and the old owner left it sitting since last august. I want to drain the gas and have followed the steps that I have found here:

I have looked all over the rest of the forum but can't gather any more information.

My problem is that it hasn't drained the rest of the gas from the tank. Steps that I did:

1. Take off seat.
2. Loosen the clamps at either end of the carb
3. rotate carb towards kickstand side.
4. Loosen the drain screw that has the clear plastic/rubber collar around it.
5. I loosened the drain screw and a little gas came out, but nothing else.

That is my problem, a little gas came out,(i think what was in the carb?) but not the rest from the tank. Is there something that I am missing?

Please help, so I can go ride! It's 85 degrees here in N. California!

The fuel valve on the Buddy is a vacuum-operated gizmo at the bottom of the tank. There is a second hose from the carb to this valve (the one that does NOT have a fuel filter on it. When the intake manifold draws a vacuum, this valve opens and fuel can flow. When the engine stops, the vacuum dies and the valve closes.

You might be able to get it to open by pulling the vac line off the carb and sucking on it, with an appropriately sized container below the drain hose. If that doesn't work, a hand vacuum pump, commonly found in a brake bleeding kit, will do the job, and can be found at an auto parts store.

I found that the hand pump from a breast pump works well. You can increase the vacuum with more squeezes or break the vacuum with a release lever. Then you can check the flow and if the vacuum valve is opening and closing with the amount of vacuum applied.

Thanks everyone for your help. Were those links that I posted just explaining how to drain only the carburetor? For some reason I thought following their steps would help to drain the tank as well...

Yeah, that's just to drain the float bowl.
