NTM: Vancouver to Toronto on a 49cc scooter??

2 UP!

:(

I was kind of expecting it to be a really awesome adventure for the two of them, but after reading the blog I actually felt kinda bad for them. It looked like a really rough trip with a couple of incidents where things could've got really really bad, and that they were just etremely lucky.

I have toyed with the idea of doing a long distance trip like this as well, also 2-up, but now I'm not so sure.

It seems like the entire trip for them was just one large difficulty. Perhaps they were expecting a different kind of experience. Hard to say, but the tone of the blog wasn't the most embracing of adventure. I'm glad they made it and I feel that ANY trip can be made on ANY bike, it just matters how hardcore you are!

And, it's a testament to Yamaha scooters. I have always thought of them as great bikes, and this only helps that image.

yea. that's kind of how i felt too, after reading the blog. the hours though, looked really long per day.

i still think it'd be fun to do, but it would have to be on a much more relaxed schedule. after all, that's kind of the point of riding a scooter.

They did fine...looks like a great trip. I'm sure a 125 would have been a bonus :)...but the spirit of doing it on a 50? awesome!

I read that a while back when I bought my Zuma. Seems pretty hellish, but I bet in the end they are glad they did it

Seeing that these folks had done that trip on a 50cc was one of the things that encouraged me to try doing my first "MI way" ride (including the Mackinac Bridge crossing) on mine. They definitely set out to just cover lots and lots of miles (or km) every day, which is something I wouldn't want to do myself, because it leaves no time to enjoy the places you go through. 3000 miles in 11 days is about twice as far as I'd want to go in that time.
