buddy 125 kick starts but the electic start isn't working

Post by jacquex4 »

My Kick start is working but my electric start isn't working, plus my signal lights and horn are really weak. My boyfriend checked my battery and he thinks it looks fine. What else can i check? I would like to fix it myself

Check your boyfriend :lol: . Oh, sorry. Based upon your symptoms, the battery is almost certainly the issue. You can take it to a battery place and have them give it a better test. They have equipment that will simulate a load. It's not worth wasting time on other things until you address that.

It's the battery or main fuse. My bet is on the battery though.

The battery might be strong enough to run the lights and some other functions but not start the engine, which is its heaviest load.

+1 to this. I usually take mine to a Batteries Plus (which often sells the replacement battery needed) and they put it through more tests than simply how many volts it's putting out. Takes about 10 seconds to get readings. It certainly does sound like a battery to me as well.

It is probably the main fuse
A 10 volt 250 amp;
The main fuse is right next to the battery,
In the battery box.
Can be purchased at any auto parts store,
keep the extra fuses in your seat box,
For just such an emergency,
Thanks,
Annie
