Converting Deadlights to Running Lights

Post by Christophers »

I know this topic has been well described and documented in other threads (Thanks Lil Buddy), but Kyle is no longer involved with Voodoo Scooter Parts, which is where everyone seems to have bought their deadlight to running light adapters. I've PM'ed Ethan (VSP) who has taken over Voodoo Scooter Parts, but so far have not had any response.

Can anyone recommend an alternative source for the deadlights to running lights adapter (deadlights to running lights only - not the BOB adapter)? Who is the manufacturer of the adapter?

I'm buying the 3W LEDs recommended by thatvwbusguy for the deadlights and upgrading the headlamp to the PIAA 70473 Super Plasma GT-X HS1 suggested by others.

How long ago did you PM Ethan? Could be he's on vacation or something. He has responded pretty quickly in the past.

I don't know of any other set-up, other than going it alone...

Good point. I guess Voodoo Scooter Parts is more or less a garage business?

Nevertheless, does anyone have any leads or information as to where else these kits can be had or who makes them?

I've already ordered the replacement deadlights and the PIAA HS1 headlamp.

If you don't hear anything back from Voodoo in the next couple days, I can easily make you a set of the deadlight harnesses. I already have a bunch of the OEM style connectors on the way from one of my suppliers for another project.

Any update on weather voodoo is still making these adapters? Would also be interested in the bob adapters. Sorry if I missed the answer somewhere else. I've been looking for a while.

I did end up getting an adapter from Voodoo.

Good deal. I know you will enjoy that conversion kit. I've put it on three Buddy's now and consider it a must for one of the things I do to increase conspicuity.

Happy holidays. :)

How much do the adapters cost?

Is there a sales post for the adapters or do we just send a PM to member VSP?
