Keeping your bike looking fresh

Hey all, I was just wondering if there were any tried and true cleaning methods for keeping one's bike looking it's best. I've tried water and clorox wipes but both keep leaving some residual smudges. Any suggestions?

I use the Armour All wipes on the plastic bits and Windex for the windsheild...

When kept outdoors the flat black plastics have tendency to turn greyish, so Back to Black helps to keep 'em black. A good car wash soap that has "water beading" properties coupled with a 'shammy' to keep the finished parts nice, and Invisible Glass for the mirrors.

If you leave your scooter out like I do...make sure you use a decent scooter cover. I like to use any decent dishwashing soap to clean the scooter 1st. Then....I use Maguiars NXT wax was here:

On clear plastics I use Plexus here:

Too keep you Black plastic looking brand new & will help with fading (40SPF) I use Aerospace 303 Protectant here:

Last...I live near the ocean up here in New England & everything RUSTS! I spray my exhaust, bolts etc. on my 2012 Kymco GTI300 & it really does work! Corrosion X here:

Chlorox isn't exactly the nicest thing to put on your plastic to be honest, I use meguiar's products, a bubble wash to clean off the crud, compound to rub out thought smudges, a spray on wax to keep it looking good and bead the water off and a quick detailer to get nay spots in between washes.

A mild car soap (I use Mother's) is good for basic cleanups and touchups.

Avoid most solvents and waxes. Some will dull the heck out of the plastic or cause premature fading, even damage.

Use a product specifically formulated for plastics. UV protection is a good thing, too, especially if you park outdoors. I have a plastic polish I use a few times a year.
